COVID 19 - How You Can Help in North Beach

Current Needs and Ways to Help

North Beach’s amazing network of service providers and community organizations are on the front lines of keeping vulnerable populations safe and strong in the current crisis. Your support will go a long way to make sure they have the resources to do their work in this trying time. See below for current suggested ways to support.

Donate to North Beach Citizens

Donate to North Beach Citizens' COVID-19 Life-Line Fund To Help The Most Vulnerable in Our Neighborhood

Your financial support is vital to continuing North Beach Citizens' daily services and programs for the most vulnerable people in our community -- our low-income & homeless citizens. With your financial support, they can continue to offer morning meals “to-go” (weekdays from 9:30-10:30 am) and keep their Wednesday Community Food Pantry open, provide pet food to their clients with animal companions, and supply clothing and hygiene items as needed. Grocery Cards for Francisco MS Families

Francisco Middle School families need your support. Due to the school closures, essential items such as groceries are needed. During this time, we would like to provide gift cards to grocery stores as a support to our families. 60% of our families live below the federal poverty level. A family of 4 making less than $50,000 qualifies for free and reduced lunch.

“Volunteering at one of the pop-ups however many times you can do it would be super helpful. We need strong people who can stay a full 5 hour shift, though we have broken them down to 2-3 hr shifts.”

If you are interested, email Katy McKnight: kmcknight@sfmfoodbank.org or Tina Gonzales: tgonzales@sfmfoodbank.org.
